Who am I? I am a flower quickly fading . . . I am Yours!
Grace arrives with its own instructions - - all verbs RUN! away from anything that leads us away from God ABANDON! the lusts and passions of this worold LIVE! life now in this age with awareness and self-control WATCH! for His return! EXPECT! the blessed hope!
3:2 "Don't tear down another person with your words. Instead keep the peace, and be considerate. I appreciate that advice, and it's true whether the person is present or not; harder to remember when they are not present!
Here's the GOOD NEWS in a nutshell in verse 3-5 "We spent our lives being spiteful, envious, hated by many, and hating one another. But then something happened: God our Savior and HIs overpowering love and kindness for humankind entered our world; He came to save us. It's not that we earned it by doing good works or righteous deeds; He came because He is merciful" Thank you God
Also - "HE made us completely new through the Holy Spirit" again, I know that I do not fully comprehend how much God has done for me; Father God, Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit guide -- I just don't comprehend how much they have done and are doing daily.
That thought about grace makes me think and is the all verbs supposed to be that sentence or ???
Who am I is a good song. Little phrases of songs came to me today. I didn't read but God and I did a LOT of talking through this day as it was a hard one. Here's some of the phrases.
"...I'm coming back to the start where you found me. I'm coming back to Your heart, now I surrender. Take me; this is all I can bring...You'll never stop loving us, no matter how far we run.."
"...I need to stretch my faith sometimes, but I am so comfortable in line..."
"The tangible world still reflects My Glory, to those who have eyes that see and ears that hear. Spending time alone with Me is the best way to develop seeing eyes and hearing ears. The goal is to be aware of unseen things even as you live out your life in the visible world." JC p174
OOOOO! You saw His glory in the tangible world last weekend for sure!!! The pics on fb of His nature spread out before you were awesome -- way worth the work of getting there (wonder if there is an illustration there somehow!)
I skimmed the first 3 chapt of Ch today -- but paused in the end of David's life. I can imagine him, very feeble on his throne. All the leaders assembled, and he rises to his feet -- with great effort -- even though he is close to death, everyone still loves their warrior/king; and David still reflects all honor to the King of kings!
"HE chose and was pleased with me, from among all of my brothers in my father's house to be the king over Israel and establish an eternal monarchy (it sounds like God finally had a man that would be His spokesman and wouldn't claim the honor and power for himself).
The commenter's view of God's tendency to choose the younger over the older (Isaac over Ishmael, Jacob over Esau, Joseph over his brothers, David over his brothers, Solomon over his brothers) and thus show that God is not bound by human tradition (hallelujah) is something I want to always remember. God can and will do anything to accomplish HIs goals!!
It was touching to think of David pouring over the plans for the temple with Solomon - to admonish him to remember God and serve Him with a complete heart. To let the people know that Solomon was young and inexperienced for a great work. Then watching David give with delight -- probably his last verb-work on earth. Then to watch the leaders and the people give with delight.
I thought it was interesting how the people worshipped and then the next day they gave - - I can see them going home after their day of worshipping God and talking together about the sacrifices they could give to HIM! WITH JOY!
This is another view of the tangible world reflecting His glory:)
ALSO -- who would have thought -- the song was in today's reading:)
Another JC - - (I'll read Proverbs during lunch - - always a good time for a bit of wisdom!)
"Receive My peace. It is My continual gift to you. The best way to receive this gift is to sit quietly in My Presence, trusting Me in every area of your life"
Thank you Chris for mentoring me in this area - - talking to God and sitting in His presence - - I am on such a journey! I've got so much to learn and relearn. I feel like Nicodemus and Jesus is telling me I need to be born again - for me it's a daily birth as I tend to botch up the day I'm in:):) Sitting quietly in His presence - I'm gonna focus on that today
Amos 3:2 "I knew and chose you for a relationship with Me" again, I think of the song's bridge; breathing in Your grace, breathing out Your praise" Living in His presence -- and it's a passion for God, I want to pursue it being a passion for me (since I get side-tracked every hour of the day)
I appreciated the commenters take on Amos (since it's a bit blasty) "God does not tear down simply to tear down; He tears down to build up again. He destroys to restore. That comes through clearly in Amos 4 where He talks about all the disasters He sent to HIs people for one reason alone; and you can hear the sadness in His voice when time and time again He says "and still you did not return to Me"
I've been reading in JC a bit more lately and that's been taking me to other areas in the Bible. Not really following the plan this week as I've needed a lot more help. I did read the one for tomorrow in John because I knew there was a chapter on the HS in the reading. I'm in desperate need of more HS!
I really like the comment on how a spiritual revolution is subversive, led by defiant acts of love. All the healing Jesus did, His sacrifice, footwashing, etc. So true that laws don't change hearts and violence breeds fear and anger. So very, very true. But we still long for change that makes a difference, in ourselves and others. Only can be done by the HS.
Then this from JC pg 175 "I have called each of My children to a different path, distinctly designed for that one. Do not let anyone convince you that his path is the only right way. And be careful not to extol your path as superior to another's way."
Really need the HS to help me in this area. Just because it works for me, doesn't mean everyone has to do it my way. Good to be excited about it, but the HS will let each of us know which way to go IF we are listening to Him and not people.
16:18 "I have so much more to say, but you cannot absorb it right now. The Spirit of truth will come and guide you in all truth" So important to remember to keep the gospel simple; not to mash "truths" down throats until their eyes glaze over. Small doses of information leave most people wanting more!
"When I return, your labored grief will also change into a joy that cannot be stolen" What a precious thought - -
"You will be heard directly by the Father. The Father loves you" something I don't often think about - usually, I think of communication coming from/through Jesus or the Spirit -- the Shack opened my eyes here, but I still have trouble putting it into action.
the plentiful gifts of God is a new intimate relationship -- worth more than gold
How proud the Father must have been - - when Jesus said "I have glorified You on earth and fulfilled the mission You set before Me." Just thinking of an earthly parents JOY when their children accomplish their goals.
Again - thinking of an earthly parent when they are separated from their children; leaving them in God's care -- and the pathos in JEsus voice I protected them, I watched over them closely . . . now . . . protect them from the evil one. . . Immerse them in the truth, the truth Your voice speaks."
Isn't it great that Jesus wants us around? "I long for the time when those YOu have given Me can join Me in My place" it's SO good to be wanted!
Who am I? I am a flower quickly fading . . . I am Yours!

JC (today's date) "Bring your moments to Me, and I will fill them with vibrant Joy. Now is the time to rejoice in My Presence"
